Jefferson Community College is holding a Rapid Admission Event on Thursday, March 8th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the McEwen Library Education Complex. This event will provide all of the services necessary for active duty soldiers, spouses, family members and civilian employees to apply to Jefferson and begin classes as early as March 19 or at a later time.
Military student advisors from JCC’s office on Fort Drum, admissions counselors, representatives from JCC’s financial services office and JCC veteran’s counselor will be available to assist attendees with completing an application for admission (free), establishing a GoArmyEd account, applying for financial aid, completing college placement testing (if necessary) and registering for class. JCC’s next session of classes is 8-weeks in length, March 19 through May 10, with classes offered on Fort Drum, online and on campus.
During the summer, JCC offers 4-week and 8-week classes on campus and online beginning early June and July. Registration opens for summer session on March 19. It’s not too early to think about enrolling for Fall; classes begin August 27.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a copy of their 2010 W-2’s and tax forms and high school graduation verification such as a copy of a transcript, GED or diploma. Veterans and active duty soldiers on terminal leave should bring their DD214 form.
