The program at Jefferson Community College will offer transitioning military and veteran service members and their families training in health information technology (HIT). This program will focus on skills training, career readiness and the application of practical, vocational knowledge delivered in the context of the contemporary employment landscape. HIT makes it possible for health care providers to better manage patient care through secure use and sharing of health information. HIT includes the use of electronic health records (EHRs) instead of paper medical records to maintain an individual’s health information.
