Healthcare Training Programs at JCC

Jefferson Community College (JCC) Continuing Education Division offers short-term training programs that lead to careers in the healthcare industry and upon successful completion, students may sit for national certficiation exams.  Pre-certification healthcare training programs include:
  • Phlebotomy Technician
  • Pharmacy Technician
  • Health Information Technology
  • Medical Billing and Coding
  • ICD-10-CM Coding
Phlebotomy technicians draw blood from patients for laboratory analysis. JCC's Phlebotomy Technician pre-certification training program runs 14-weeks beginning March 17 through June 16. Classes are held on JCC’s campus in Watertown during Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The program consists of 90 hours of classroom training. Upon successful completion, students will be prepared to take the National Healthcareer Association phlebotomy technician exam. The course fee, including the cost of textbooks, is $1599.
 Application deadline is January 16, 2015.

Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, pharmacy technicians work in hospitals, community pharmacies and other healthcare settings. JCC's Pharmacy Technician pre-certification training program runs 15-weeks beginning April 20 through August 3. Classes are held on JCC’s campus in Watertown on Monday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The program consists of 50 hours of classroom training.  Upon successful completion, students will be prepared to enter the pharmacy field and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam. The course fee of $999 includes the cost of textbooks. Application deadline is February 6, 2015.
