On March 3, 2015 community members are invited to learn about the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs offered in Watertown through the Jefferson Higher Education Center (JHEC) on the campus of Jefferson Community College (JCC). An open house will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. in Jules Center Commons and again from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in rooms E-118 and E-120 in the Extended Learning Center, Building E at JCC. Representatives from Jefferson and partner institutions will be available to meet one-on-one with interested students and answer questions about degree programs and admission requirements. Community members may drop in at any time.Jefferson Higher Education Center partners include Bryant & Stratton College, Keuka College, SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Empire State College, SUNY Potsdam, SUNY Upstate Medical University, and The Greater Rochester Collaborative, a partnership between The College at Brockport and Nazareth College. Combined, these institutions are providing local opportunities for seven program-specific bachelor’s degrees and seven program-specific master’s degrees, along with the individualized bachelor’s and master’s degree program opportunities offered by SUNY Empire State College. Bachelor’s degree completion programs include health services administration, business administration, criminal justice, culinary arts, nursing, early childhood studies (birth to age 5), and social work. Master’s degree programs include family nurse practitioner, family psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, childhood education, literacy educator, literacy specialist, curriculum and instruction, social work and organizational leadership.
